George Walter Reid, beloved spouse, father and friend, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the age of 75. He was surrounded by his loving family at The Heart of Hastings Hospice in Madoc, Ontario.
George was born on June 13, 1951 in Campbellford, Ontario, the son of Walter and Evelyn Reid. He grew up in the Springbrook area, then Stirling, where he developed his strong work ethic. After school he went on to pursue a career in industrial supply. Following this time, he went on to operate his own family business, serving the Quinte area for over 25 years.
A loving husband to Kathryn, George was a beacon of strength and support to his family. Together they raised their children, Brian (Jessie) and Khrista (Jason). He was a devoted father and always there to offer guidance, and most of all a laugh. “Pop” is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kalea, Olive and Ivy. He brought much joy to those around him.
In honour, a visitation and service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Parkdale Baptist Church, located at 514 Sidney St. Belleville, Ontario. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, with a service and reception beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the reception at Elmwood Cemetery in Corbyville. The family welcomes all to join in memory of George.
Rest in peace dear husband and father. You will be forever in our hearts.
If desired, donations in memory of George may be made to Belleville General Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
