FA2012-1007-01 25 Apr 2012 Trenton, Ontario The CC-177 Globemaster performs touch and goes at Mountain View.On 25 April 2012, at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario, 429 Squadron validated techniques, aircraft systems and training while performing the first Canadian Heavy Equipment Drop from a CC-177, Globemaster. The Globemaster has the capability to airdrop 110,000 pounds using multiple air drop platforms. Unlike the Container Delivery System which is gravity dispatched, the Heavy Air Drop System uses an extraction chute to dispatch the load.
