It’s definitely not unanimous, but after some testy debate, Prince Edward County Council has voted to increase the budget for it’s Economic Development Department.
A slight majority voted to up the budget by 63 thousand dollars to allow focus on attracting “green” industry and business. The budget for Economic Development will now be 590 thousand dollars. Including it’s revenue, the department will spend over 800 thousand dollars.
Most on Prince Edward Council are happy with small business and tourism success in the County, but some councillors believe the budget should be cut significantly.
