Farmers and property owners in Sidney ward of Quinte West are wondering about a proposed natural gas pipeline heading for CFB Trenton.
A landowner north of the base said the Union Gas company was staking out land on an unopened road allowance on his property and others, and it looked as though they were interfering with a stream. He told Council that he wasn’t allowed to disturb certain parts of his property because of the creek, but it looked as though the gas company was doing whatever it wanted.
Director of Public Works, Chris Angelo, said the City was studying the pipeline application, and would have further comment on the project in the near future.
