The Electors of Prince Edward County is feeling good after eight and a half days of an Ontario Municipal Board Hearing in Picton.
The Electors appealed county council’s decision earlier this year to leave any decision about reducing the number of councillors and cutting the number of wards until a referendum in next year’s election..
Electors Co-chair Jim McPherson says he believes the hearing, which ended yesterday, was fair, and he’s looking forward to the chairperson’s ruling.
The chair will have to release her decision soon because any change to next year’s municipal election will have to be made by the end of December.. The Electors wants to reduce the number of councillors from 15 to 12, and the number of wards from ten to six.
