A new diabetes team will be set up at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee.
The team is one of 51 across the province announced by the Ministry of Health Promotion today.
It isn’t yet known when the team, whose goal is to fight the increase in the illness, will be established.
The Minister, Margarett Best, says only 34 per cent of people with diabetes get proper cholesterol, eye and blood tests. Other teams are already in place at the hospitals in Trenton, Belleville and Picton.
