Prince Edward County’s burn permit fee will go up by only half as much as the fire chief wanted.
A report from Chief Scott Manlowe asked the Committee of the Whole yesterday to increase the fee from ten to twenty dollars, starting next year.
However, councillor Bev Campbell says the committee felt a ten dollar hike was too much, and settled on five dollars.
The 15-dollar burn permit fee will begin on January first, 2010..
