Art surrounds the grounds of Base31.
The 750-acre property is still decades away from completion, however, part of the fun of the entire concept is the journey to the finish line.
Base31 already combines music, food/drink, exhibits and displays, with the first housing project Hilltop Village CLICK HERE FOR MORE now underway.
The District Art Walk showcases ten pieces laid out across the grounds, including that of Viktor Mitic, a Serbian-born artist and sculptor that now calls Toronto home.

Mitic has laid out several pieces as part of the grounds exhibit, some on loan from Oeno Gallery, others part of the Base31 collection.
Mitic spoke to Quinte News about his recent visit to the former military training grounds.
“I went up there, talked to Alexandra De Gasperis (DECO Communities, Base31), we took a walk, brainstorming, getting some ideas. We selected a number of sculptures that were available that might be suitable for the the ground. We chose the five and put them up.”
Mitic says he loves the military history of the site.
“I just love the contrast, because the sculptures that I have on the site are made of highly polished materials. Some of them are polished to a mirror finish with 24-carat gold plating, with very bright paint. Then on the other side you have the the history of the site, which is preparation for war and and going to war.”
