A fire tore through a home in Quinte West’s Murray Ward on Monday night, destroying the building.
Quinte West Firefighters, along with assisting Brighton Firefighters, responded to 871 English Settlement Road close to 8:15 pm, to battle the flames.
One man had escaped the building, he was checked out on scene by paramedics.
The home, previously being roughly 3000 square feet, was completely destroyed by the flames, causing an estimated $800,000 in damages.
The road was previously closed while firefighters worked, but has since re-opened. No cause of the fire has been released, but it is not considered suspicious.
