The City of Belleville’s Planning Committee reviewed several significant development plans at its meeting on Monday.
The committee held a public meeting on a rezoning application for vacant industrial land between Sidney Street and Palmer Road North off Wilson Avenue.
The proposal would develop about five hectares of the eastern part of the 13-hectare property with 109 residential units, including single-family detached, semi-detached, and townhouse dwellings.
The western part of the proposal is being submitted separately, meaning a total of 269 units if both applications were approved.
No decision was made at the meeting.
The rezoning application was referred to city staff for a report, which will be brought back to the committee with feedback at a future meeting.
After the public meeting, the committee recommended to council a 30-unit townhouse development on Cloverleaf Drive, a renovation and a new nine-story apartment building at 1 North Front Street, and plans for a subdivision consisting of 552 residential units at Black Bear Ridge Village.
