A company looking to construct a data centre and massive farming operation in Glen Miller is lobbying the business community, the public, and council for support this week.
In our Quinte News exclusive over the weekend (available by CLICKING HERE), we told you about the project at the former Sonoco Paper Miller in Quinte West, now owned and operated by All Season Fencing.
The proposal for the part of the 100-acre site to become an 18-megawatt data centre, which would in create heat for a vertical farm and greenhouse.
There is already an 8-megawatt outdoor data centre on the property
Trinity Smart Farms says their proposal would create local sustainable food and create up to 200 jobs.
Those overseeing the project are holding a business Q and A on Monday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. (by reservation) and Tuesday evening they have a public open house from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on their site at 920 Trenton Frankford Road.
The public is invited to tour the site.
On Wednesday evening at Quinte West’s meeting of council, nine deputations will be on deck, along with a vote which could put a pause any new data centre developments for up to one year.
