Hamilton police have taken a 33-year-old Belleville man into custody, following a human trafficking investigation.
Authorities confirm that Ebunoluwa Tomiwa, who also goes by the name “Boon” turned himself in to police earlier recently.
The Quinte area resident was wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation conducted by the Human Trafficking Unit.
Tomiwa is now facing serious charges, including trafficking in persons, procuring sexual services, and withholding documents.
He remains in custody as he awaits a formal bail hearing.
Investigators suspect there may be more individuals impacted by the suspect’s actions and are asking them to step forward. Anyone with details that could assist the case is urged to call Hamilton police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
