According to a story by Global News 29 year-old Sean Ward was suing the military because he was discharged from service for refusing a Covid 19 vaccination.
A statement of claim said Ward had served honorably for 5 years until 2022 and had suffered emotional, physical, and financial harm because of the discharge.
Ward, who was heavily armed, was shot dead, and an officer seriously injured, in the incident which police later said was a planned attack on worshippers gathered to celebrate Yom Kippur September 20.
