A Belleville woman is facing a long list of charges, after using a stolen credit card.
On Sunday, Belleville Police officers responded to a business on north front street, regarding a fraud investigation. Police learned that a wallet had been stolen from a vehicle overnight, and that a credit card belonging to the victim had been subsequently used at the business. Police checked security camera footage, and identified a female suspect.
On Monday morning, just after 4am, officers responded to an incident in the city’s east end. Officers were told of a person going through parked vehicles and stealing the contents. Officers found the suspect, who they determined to be the same suspect from the earlier fraud investigation.
Stephanie McKenna, a 35 year old Bellleville woman with no fixed address, faces the following charges:
- Use of credit card
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Trespassing at night
- Theft under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
She was held for a bail hearing.
