Temporary municipal leader
Stirling-Rawdon council has approved the hiring of Kelly Pender in the position of Interim C.A.O. while the hiring
process continues for a permanent replacement following the resignation of former C.A.O. Shelley Stedall, who is
now running for Mayor of Quinte West.
Pender has decades of municipal governance experience and mostly recently completed temporary work for Madoc Township
and the Municipality of Tweed.
His previous full-time employment was as C.A.O. of the County of Frontenac.
Housing Development
It’s early stages but planning is underway for a significant new housing development in urban Stirling-Rawdon.
Council has approved a planning cost-sharing agreement with John Cheung of Zamcan Inc.
He is proposing an 80-unit townhouse development to be located at William and Mill streets.
Under the agreement the hopeful developer will pay for the municipality’s planning costs.
