The Newmarket Hurricanes slipped past the Wellington Dukes 3-2 in overtime on Friday.
Justin Doak and Blake Berthiaume scored for the Dukes.
Both teams managed to score in the first period, taking a 1-1 tie into the second. In the second frame, the Dukes scored once and took the lead. In the third, the Hurricanes came back to tie the game once again, and send the teams to overtime. In overtime, the Hurricanes scored first, and won the game.
The Dukes have Saturday off, but are on the road Sunday to face the Pickering Panthers.
