The H.J. McFarland Memorial Home is responding to a respiratory outbreak within its facility.
In a notice, Prince Edward County says that home staff have implemented mandatory masking for all staff and visitors until further notice.
Visitors are being asked to check with a staff member upon visiting the home to determine what extra precautions they must take to help prevent the spread of the infection.
Everyone entering the home must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer.
Visitors should follow best practices for hand hygiene to avoid contracting and/or transmitting the infection.
People with respiratory symptoms should avoid visiting the home during the outbreak.
