Belleville has a local champion to cheer for after 13-year-old Elise Kerr stormed to victory at the recent Women’s Novice Singles district lawn bowling play downs.
Kerr locked up first place sweeping three straight matches, with scores of 18-7, 18-9, and 18-9.
Up next, Kerr will represent the district as she takes on fifteen top contenders at the Novice Singles Provincial Championships in Belleville.
Local fans can catch all the action on September 19 and 20 when the tournament comes to the Belleville Lawn Bowling Club on Centre Street.
