Prince Edward County OPP say that a parking enforcement officer was assaulted in Picton.
On August 27, 2026, officers responded to a report of an altercation involving a parking enforcement officer in downtown Picton.
Police say that the incident occurred following the issuance of a parking infraction notice to a vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old Caley Mouland of Bloomfield has been charged with Assault.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on October 7, 2026.

The OPP reminds the public that municipal enforcement officers and other public-facing workers play an important role in maintaining safe communities. Disagreements with enforcement decisions should be addressed through the appropriate administrative or complaint channels and should never escalate to threats, aggression, or violence. Anyone who assaults, threatens, or obstructs a person who is lawfully carrying out their duties may face criminal charges.
