Belleville City Council voted unanimously in a recorded vote to support a motion from Councillor Kelly Henderson, calling on staff to report back on a plan to bring temporary water service to residents in the west end of Belleville.
The motion calls on staff to meet with residents of Marshall Road, Bridge Street West, Peter Street and Moira Street.
After those discussions, staff will then develop a plan to implement a temporary water supply to households in those areas that are “experiencing periodic or permanent water deficiencies.”
The temporary solution would be in place until the city could install a permanent municipal water source.
The report would be brought back to council by the September 28 meeting.
Despite some hesitancy, council approved the motion in a unanimous 9-0 vote.
