Impaired Driver
On July 19, 2026 at 8:16 p.m., Belleville police responded to a call for service in the city’s west end regarding a suspected impaired driver. Officers located the suspect vehicle and spoke with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, Andrew Sine, a 47-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

Operation while impaired – alcohol

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in September.
Impaired Driver
On July 18, 2026 at 8:31 p.m., Belleville police responded to the area of Bridge Street East and Ann Street regarding a motor vehicle collision. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a pole.
Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had collided with a pole and identified the male driver standing nearby. Officers spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, Robert Thompson, a 61-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

He was released on an undertaking with a court date in August.
Fail to Comply
On July 18, 2026 at 1:19 p.m., Belleville police responded to the area of Bridge Street West and Sidney Street following a call for service. A witness reported observing a male and female in a vehicle, with the male known to have an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant.
Upon arrival, officers located the stopped vehicle. The female departed the immediate area, and officers spoke with the male driver and learned that he was subject to conditions prohibiting him from communicating with the female.
As a result, a 20-year-old Belleville man was arrested on the strength of the outstanding arrest warrant, and charged additionally with:

Fail to comply with a release order x2
He was held for a bail hearing.
Warrants
On July 17, 2026 at 11:30 p.m., Belleville police initiated a traffic stop in the area of Moira Street East. While speaking with the occupants, officers confirmed that the male passenger had outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrants.
As a result, Richard Brant, a 53-year-old Quinte West man, was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrants and held for a bail hearing.
Assault
On July 17, 2026, Belleville police responded to the area of Bridge Street West and Coleman Street regarding a domestic disturbance. Witnesses reported observing a physical altercation between a male and a female.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties and determined that the incident had begun as a verbal altercation, which escalated when the female threw a glass object at the male.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:

She was released on an undertaking with a court date in August.
