A 53-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident Sunday morning.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. on July 19, 2026, officers were called to a residence in the Sherbrooke Street and Stewart Street area about a break and enter. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the homeowner who stated they found an unknown man in their home. The homeowner asked the man to leave and he did. Afterwards, it was noticed that a wallet and some other items were missing. Officers searched the area and located a man matching the description given to police a short distance away. Officers were able to return the property to the homeowner.
As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on July 19, 2026.
