A Prince Edward County councillor and candidate for mayor wants to stiffen council’s rules surrounding the reconsideration of a decision already made.
At council’s meeting on Tuesday, Brad Nieman will ask that council approve a change to its Procedural By-law to ensure that any motion to reconsider a decision must have two-thirds of council members’ support for approval.
Nieman’s motion indicates such a change would align with widely-accepted parliamentary standards and prevent endless debate on issues already decided.
