Peterborough County OPP charged a teenager in connection with a fight at a park in Selwyn Township.
Officers were dispatched to Chemong Park in Selwyn Township around 9 p.m. Sunday after a report that a large fight was in progress.
The caller advised that there were several people fighting and yelling.
Officers arrived to find 15 to 20 people in the parking area yelling and screaming at each other.
The officer spoke with an individual who identified themself as a victim and showed the officer minor injuries that they had received as a result of the altercation.
Another person advised police that they had been sprayed with something and now were having difficulty seeing.
Bystanders offered the victim water to aid in clearing their eyes.
Officers were informed that the fight began because of an individual throwing an object at a vehicle causing damage to it.
A 15-year-old youth was identified as the aggressor and as such was arrested.
The accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with:
• Assault
• Mischief – destroys or damages property
• Administer noxious thing
