Marmora and Lake Council has filled its vacancy left by the resignation of Jane Lakatos last month.
This week, council approved appointing Bernie Donaldson to the seat for the rest of the term which ends later this year.
Donaldson finished fifth in the race for the three councillor seats in the 2022 municipal election.
Lakatos resigned saying she was unable in good conscience to continue in a role where due process has been set aside – undermining the integrity of local government.
The next municipal election is on October 25.
