Martina “Marty” Leonora (Brown) Thompson 92 years of age passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, in Belleville, Ontario.
Martina was born on February 15, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Marvel Brown.
Marty was born in Toronto, later moving to Windsor and Chatham, before moving to Picton, Ontario in 2017 to be near family. She lived 7 years at the Wellings of Picton a fifty-five plus building that she loved and met many great and close friends. Recently she has been at Bridge Street Retirement home in Bellville.
Marty, with her Husband Ron of 65 years spent many years escaping the cold winters with friends in Florida, these being some of her many favorite memories. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family Sunday dinners and holidays were always filled with the comforting aroma of stuffing, turkey, wrapped Pork Ribs, Christmas Pudding, Angel Food Cake, and freshly baked cookies. Marty was a great cook, and her three boys were lucky to have had her teach them how to make her family favorites.
Her family thanks her for her tireless pursuit of the Family Tree something she really enjoyed. As a mother, she was the cornerstone of the family, a source of endless patience and strength who always made everyone feel seen and loved. She will be missed by her family, neighbours and many close friends including many lifelong great friends that she always kept in contact with.
Marty is survived by her children Keith (Deb) and Brian (Colleen); her six cherished grandchildren, Allan, Sharon, Michael, Breanna, Brandon and Bradley; her great grandchildren Ashley, Kaitlin, Jocelyn, Hailey and Riley. Marty is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron Thompson, son Paul Thompson and her brother, Harvey Brown.
To respect Marty’s wishes memorial services will not be held. Marty’s final resting place will be in Windsor, Ontario at the Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery along side her husband Ron and son Paul.
