It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marion Alice Hunt (nee Gauthier), announce her sudden and unexpected passing on June 22nd. Born November 3, 1940 the daughter of the late Irene (nee Masterson) and Leo Gauthier. Devoted wife to the late Robert (Bob) Hunt. Loving mother to Lana Smit (Edward) and Rodney Hunt (Cheryl). Grandmother to Shannon, Sheldon, Holly and Zach. Proud great grandmother to David, Jonah, Simon, Daniel, Josie & Genny. Survived by her sister Phyllis Gauthier and predeceased by her brother Carl Gauthier.
Marion retired from “The Northern” after years of dedicated service. Her incredibly strong faith was her passion. In years past, she was an active member of the CWL and volunteer at Birthright in Belleville. She had a wonderful sense of humour and an infectious laugh. Her warmth, kindness and beautiful smile drew people to her. She loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.
We would like to express love and gratitude to her granddaughter Holly (Nurse) for her incredibly quick response to mom’s call, for her heroic care and for being at her side during her passing. She died with family by her side.
Friends are invited to the Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968), 150 Church Street, Belleville on Sunday, June 28 from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 296 Church Street, Belleville, on Monday, June 29 at 10:30 am. Interment at St. James’ Cemetery. Reception to follow at Burke Funeral Home.
