Cooney, Bill Francis… Passed away at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Caroline “Carrie” Cooney of Trenton. Dear father to Bill Cooney (Lori), Bob Cooney (Cathy), Brad Cooney (Cheryl) and Bonnie Cooney-McLean (Duane). Proud grandpa to William (Hannah), Jordan, Amy (Jay), Tanya (Tyler), Kyle (Taylor), Shelby (Kevin), Austin (Brittany), Sue Ann (Kevin), MacKenzie, Braydon and great grandpa to his 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Brian (surviving wife Linda) and sister Betty Jones (Ed). Also predeceased by her parents Orval & Marjorie Cooney.
Bill will be remembered for his love of stock car racing, camping, and spending time in Florida with his wife Carrie. He enjoyed listening to country and gospel music and had a lifelong appreciation for firefighting. Above all, Bill treasured the time he spent with his family, creating countless memories with those he loved most.
At Bill’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held, with a Celebration of Bill’s Life to be planned and held at a later date.
