Faythe Bottoms, beloved wife of Keith Clayton Bottoms (dec), devoted mother to Karen and Brent and grandmother to James, Alexandra and Thomas, passed away peacefully on March 29 at the age of 91.
Born into a farming community in Buchanan, Saskatchewan as the eldest of three children, Faythe excelled academically and after graduating from high school she pursued a career as a primary school teacher which took her to a number of locations throughout the western provinces of Canada. In 1959 her teaching career took her to RCAF Cold Lake, Alberta where she met Lieutenant KC Bottoms whom she married in July of 1960. Karen was born in Cold Lake in June of 1961 and after Keith was posted to North Bay, Ontario, Brent arrived in June of 1963. Moves followed to Bagotville, Quebec, London, England and Chatham, New Brunswick before Keith and Faythe finally settled in Trenton, Ontario in 1974. Throughout this period the love and support she provided to her family took the large majority of her time however the love of teaching never left her, and in 1975 she resumed teaching full time until she finally retired at the age of 62 years old. Keith and Faythe spent their retirement travelling, sailing and entertaining their many friends and family at their home in Trenton. A very accomplished bridge player and exceptional host, Faythe’s passion touched all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
Friends and Family are invited to a Graveside Service at St. George’s Cemetery, Trenton on Thursday April 30th, 2026 at 2:00PM. A reception will follow at Weaver Family Funeral Home, East Chapel – 29 Bay Street, Trenton.
