Leona D Sharpe (nee-Lacombe) was born on January 22 1948 in Cobourg. Recently passed peacefully in Belleville with her family and friends by her side.
Leona has joined the love of her life and spouse of 38yrs. Jim Poste (predeceased). Loving and cherished mother to Rick Sharpe (predeceased) Verona of Trenton, Suzanne Gibson (Dave) of Prince Edward County. Cherished brother of David Wager (predeceased) and sister Colleen Coward.
Leona and Jim had a true love story and were inseparable. Their love was contagious. Leona worked many years at K-mart and Walmart in the shoe dept with Jim in Peterborough. Raising her family was her proudest accomplishment. She and Jim would love to go for drives (her nickname was “the beagle”) they would enjoy a picnic lunch at Wicklow beach and just sit and chat and enjoy each other’s company.
Leona and her daughter Suzanne were more than just mother and daughter; they were best friends and they did everything together. Most of all they loved spending their summer’s at the trailer. Their campsite was on the main corner at the campground which everyone at the campsite would walk by and Leona would enjoy talking to everyone that passed by. The kids would stop by for freezies as well as every dog would stop for a biscuit.
Leona will be greatly missed by her Cedardale family and “The Bitches with Hitches” girls, Cheryl, Sue, Joyce, Karen and Beth. Dearly missed by her Havelock friends Wanda and Donna.
In lieu of flowers, donations to CNIB Guide Dogs would be appreciated by the family. Online guestbook and condolences may be shared at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com.
