Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP are investigating a single-vehicle collision that took place around 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
City of Kawartha Lakes OPP along with Kawartha Lakes fire and Kawartha Lakes EMS were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision on Elm Tree Road between Star Road and Riley Lane in Kirkfield. Upon arrival a 51-year-old female of Kirkfield was transported to a local area hospital and was later pronounced deceased from her injuries.
Elm Tree Road is closed between Star Road and Riley Lane while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
