Cadets from across the Southeastern Ontario Area (SEOA) gathered at the South Side Gymnasium at Canadian Forces Base Trenton for the annual Stage II Marksmanship Competition, a full‑day event that showcased the discipline, focus, and teamwork central to the Canadian Cadet Program.
The competition brought together Army, Sea, and Air Cadets from units across the Quinte region. Participants completed a series of marksmanship shoots designed to test accuracy and consistency while operating under nationally-standardized safety protocols.
The Cadet Marksmanship Program, which has a legacy dating back to the early 1900s and Canada’s historic Bisley teams, continues to offer youth a unique opportunity to develop technical skill, confidence, and sportsmanship.
Cadets competed using the Daisy/Avanti 853C .177 calibre target air rifle — the standard air rifle used nationally across the Canadian Cadet Movement for safe, Olympic‑style marksmanship training.
Final standings:
1st Place – 100 Brighton Army Cadets
2nd Place – 608 Belleville Air Cadets
3rd Place – 58 Quinte Sea Cadets
Officials observed strong performances and a high level of professionalism from all cadets involved. The competition also supported skill development for future stages in the national marksmanship season.
Safety remained the priority at all times, with all activities following Canadian Firearms Centre standards and Cadet Program safety procedures. Qualified instructors and range staff supervised each phase of the event.
