Two Canadian Members of Parliament were part of a flag-raising ceremony at Canada’s new consulate in Nuuk, Greenland.
They were Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand and Hastings-Lennox & Addington’s Shelby Kramp-Neuman.

The ceremony in the capital of the autonomous territory of Denmark, comes at a time when Greenland has come into the international spotlight, following claims by U.S. President Donald Trump to take over the land mass.

Kramp-Neuman spoke to Quinte News following day one of her visit.
“The world has definitely changed and it’s critically important that federal politicians of all stripes show a united front on issues of economic and
national security and sovereignty. It’s not just important for Canada – it’s important for our NATO allies as well.”

Kramp-Neuman describes the ceremony opening the consulate Friday.
