Belleville police have arrested a driver, after an incident in Belleville’s downtown involving a snowplow.
On Friday morning, just before 3am, officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the downtown area. When they arrived, officers found a vehicle had struck a snowplow. Witnesses told officers that the driver had exited the vehicle and fled the area on foot.
Officers located and arrested Vipishan Sureswaran, a 20 year old Belleville man, shortly after. He was charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol over 80, dangerous operation, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
He was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in March.
