A Belleville Police Service Constable has received the Chief’s Commendation for their efforts across multiple projects for the service.
Constable Jesse McInroy was recognized for his contributions during Thursday’s Police Services Board meeting. He was credited with single-handedly restoring the service’s K9 program. After successfully establishing one unit, he was able to expand the program to include a second service dog and become a provincially-recognized trainer. His efforts have extended beyond the Belleville Police Service, as he assisted Cobourg Police Service in establishing their K9 program and formalized a regional training group.
In addition to his work with the K9 Program, Constable McInroy was recognized for his effort toward the Harrington Road Firing Range Project. The project officially started in 2018, but Constable McInroy’s efforts have resumed progress on the project, with a groundbreaking set this year. The facility is expected to help provide officers with better training opportunities and is expected to save the police service thousands of dollars going forward.
Constable McInroy was also involved in the campaign for the Community Rescue Vehicle, where he secured over $108,000 in community donations towards acquiring the vehicle.
Constable McInroy was recognized for his vision, dedication, and leadership, with his actions improving community safety and creating lasting community partnerships for the police service.
