A retired Belleville police service officer has been recognized for his efforts at the downtown community police office.
During Thursday’s meeting of the Police Services Board, the board recognized retired special constable Harry Burley for his exceptional work at the downtown office and on foot patrol in the area. During the presentation, it was noted that he had demonstrated great professionalism, care, and attention to detail in his work.
Burley dedicated over 1000 hours to proactive community engagement in 2025, including taking verbal complaints, documenting issues, and addressing safety concerns such as public intoxication and safety problems along downtown streets and trails.
His work directly contributed to building a safe and welcoming environment in the downtown core for visitors and residents.
