Prince Edward County has completed a survey with county employers in an effort to understand their needs and how to improve conditions for businesses in the county.
During Thursday’s Committee of the Whole meeting, councillors were presented with the findings of that survey.
The report on the 2025 Business Retention and Expansion Survey said that the survey reached approximately 15% of the county’s working population, and that the top three concerns reported were connectivity, affordability, and livability. Many said they were looking to connect both with local suppliers and clients.
There are already initiatives planned for 2026 to address these concerns. In the report, they pointed out that upcoming networking events and efforts to ensure online listings for local businesses are up to date and easily searchable.
After discussions, the committee accepted the report with no further action at this time.
