A male is in custody after assaulting and stabbing another male at a residence in Oshawa.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026 at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of Durham Regional Police Central East Division responded to an armed-person call at a residence in the area of Ritson Road North and Adelaide Avenue East. Police were called when a male residing in a rooming house assaulted and stabbed another resident. Officers arrived on scene and located both the victim and suspect. The victim was transported to a local-area hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Nnamdi Enunwa, age 38 from Oshawa is charged with: aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possess weapon to commit criminal offence.
He was held for a bail hearing.
