A 47-year-old female suffered serious life-altering injuries after a three-vehicle collision in Beaverton.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026 at approximately 3 a.m., members of Durham Regional Police North Division responded to a collision on Regional Road 23, north of Thorah Concession Road 2. A 47-year-old female stopped to assist a Dodge minivan that had left the roadway. While attempting to render assistance, the female was struck and pinned against her Dodge pickup truck by a Mazda sedan travelling north on Regional Road 23. After striking the female and pickup truck, the Mazda collided with the Dodge minivan, before coming to a stop in a ditch.
The 47-year-old female sustained significant life-altering injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center by Air ORNGE, where she remains in stable condition. The driver of the Mazda remained on scene and cooperated with police.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit were notified and have since taken over the investigation.
