As Quinte News continues to look ahead to 2026, we had a chance to speak with Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp.
While he can’t say what’s to come now, he did note that there will be a series of announcements coming in January.
“Very excited for things from the infrastructure front, on the health care front, doing more for our unhoused population, because we know that that’s going to identify priority all over the riding, and just kind of keeping forward that momentum that we’ve had, and making sure that we bring more resources to the Bay of Quinte region.” Allsopp tells Quinte News.
Allsopp admits that the relationship between the province and the city has been “stickier” as of late, which he says has been a bit of a surprise for him.
“I think ultimately, the thing that people in this area want to know is that their provincial and municipal governments are able to work well together to bring the supports to their community that are definitely needed on the ground,” Allsopp said.
“So I’m committed to doing my part to make sure that happens.”
He says that he will be at the New Year’s Levee for the City of Belleville on January 1 and says he is willing to take part in the January roundtable between municipal, provincial and federal leaders to discuss major issues.
“I’m more than happy to participate in that as well and make sure that we are all on the same page and working together cohesively.” Allsopp said.
