Quinte News spoke with the MPP for Hastings—Lennox and Addington, Ric Bresee, to look ahead to the year 2026 and what he is looking to accomplish for his riding.
Bresee tells Quinte News that one of the positions he was appointed to through the legislature was as the Parliamentary Assistant for the Ministry of Transportation.
He says that he hopes his experience with that role will help get funding for certain projects for his riding.
“All of the municipalities in Hastings, Lennox and Addington have faced real challenges with their asset management structures, and maintaining and upgrading the roads, the bridges, all of that,” Bresee says.
“So getting the funding through the province and getting the support from the province to make sure that our roads are in good shape and that our bridges are stable. We’ve had a number of announcements, and I’m looking forward to a number more of them, just to make sure that we are good partners to our municipal leadership across the riding.
Bresee also notes that he is continuing to work with both Ontario Health Teams that work within his riding, the Frontenac, Lennox and Addington and Hastings-Prince Edward Ontario Health Teams.
“Both of those teams have some some great plans and some recent funding announcements, as well as some future announcements where we can make sure that there is available health care service for everybody,” Bresee tells Quinte News.
“There are still some pockets, unfortunately, that have really been left out, and I’m working very hard to make sure those pockets get filled.”
