A firearm was located in a vehicle after the driver was arrested for impaired operation in Whitby.
On December 17, 2025 at approximately 12:10 a.m., a member of the Festive RIDE team initiated a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street and Brock Street.
Officers took the driver into custody after observing signs of alcohol impairment. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded handgun beside the driver’s seat.
Armaan Ali Osmani, age 18 from Clarington is charged with numerous offences including impaired operation of a conveyance – exceed, possession of prohibited/restricted firearm – no licence, possess loaded prohibited/restricted firearm, possess prohibited device, occupy motor vehicle with firearm, and novice driver BAC above zero.
He was held for a bail hearing.
