Tyendinaga Township Council will have a first look at its 2026 operating and capital budgets at a special meeting Wednesday.
As proposed, the budget features a 7.55 per cent residential tax increase.
That translates to an extra $107 a year for every $100,000 of property assessment.
A staff report to council outlines the cost increase pressures common to all municipalities and says some capital projects had to be scaled back or cancelled to keep the tax increase manageable.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m.
Another budget meeting is scheduled for January 28.
