Prince Edward County has approved a revised taxi fare schedule.
The revised fare guidelines were discussed as part of Tuesday’s council meeting.
During a previous Committee of the Whole meeting, the committee found some inconsistencies in how the fares for certain routes and distances were priced in a revised taxi by-law, and directed municipal staff to reevaluate the guidelines. After consultations with the county’s taxi providers, an updated fare document was presented to council.
The new document lists maximum fares, with cab companies able to charge less if desired.
Council voted to approve the new fare schedule as presented.
