Centre Hastings will not be providing any funding for the HART Hub in Belleville at this time.
In October, Belleville council passed a resolution requesting several neighbouring municipalities contribute funding to the Integrated HART Hub capital construction project.
At its meeting this week, Centre Hastings Council did not support the request.
However, cCouncil did ask staff to follow up with a request for more information on the HART Hub and its functions and services and may reconsider once they have more information.
The City of Belleville put out the request saying that while the hub will be located in Belleville at Alhambra Square, it is a regional initiative.
The province is providing HART Hub operational funding for the centre to the tune of $6.3 million each year for the next three years.
