A 20-year-old motorist faces several charges after refusing to stop for police in Stone Mills Tuesday morning.
Lennox and Addington OPP officers conducting traffic enforcement on County Road 1 just after 11 a.m. attempted to stop a westbound vehicle travelling at more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit, however, the driver fled at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped just east of Napanee and driver was arrested.
Olivia Veley of Stone Mills was charged with:
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Stunt driving
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Drive motor vehicle – no currently validated permit
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on December 16.
Her driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.
