A 33-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to an unwanted person call Sunday morning.
At approximately 8:25 a.m., police responded to a residence in the area of King Street East and Cottesmore Avenue in Cobourg regarding an unwanted person who had pushed their way into the home.
A 33-year-old Cobourg man was arrested.
During the arrest, police located a quantity of suspected fentanyl.
The man was charged with unlawfully in a dwelling, assault, possession of a schedule I substance (fentanyl), and two counts of fail to comply with probation.
The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody.
The Cobourg Police Service notes that since November 2024, the accused has been arrested four times with 13 criminal charges.
In total, police have had 49 interactions with the accused in the past year.
