Two people have been charged after a serious assault in Picton on Friday night.
Prince Edward County OPP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon outside a convenience store on Paul Street at around 11:15 p.m.
The victim, a 35-year-old male, was transported to a regional trauma centre with what police described as “very serious, but non-life-threatening stab wounds.”
OPP say the victim continues to undergo treatment.
During the investigation, officers recovered multiple weapons.
Two individuals were arrested shortly after the incident with assistance from the Tyendinaga Police Service.
Zachary Larrivee, age 20 and Gavin LaFrance, age 19, both from Embrun, have been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpos
- Obstructing justice
Larrivee is also charged with attempted murder.
Both accused remain in custody and were scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by members of the Prince Edward County OPP, the Prince Edward County Crime Unit, and the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
