On Thursday, the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit concluded a month-long investigation involving two parties, dubbed Project ‘Cerberus.’
The investigation began after police received information indicating that two individuals were involved in drug distribution within Kingston and surrounding jurisdictions.
With the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactics & Rescue Unit and the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Inverary.
Three individuals were arrested at the residence, while a subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a .45 calibre Ruger handgun and over 50 rounds of ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old male has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
- Possession of a Firearm Without a Licence
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing No Authority
- Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited ×3
- Breach of Undertaking ×2
A 41-year-old female has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
- Possession of a Firearm Without a Licence
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing No Authority
- Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited ×3
- Breach of Probation
A 39-year-old male has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
- Possession of a Firearm Without a Licence
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing No Authority
- Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited ×2
All three accused, who are from the Kingston area were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
