Northumberland OPP have recovered a vehicle that was stolen in Belleville.
On Thursday, at close to 8 p.m., an officer on patrol on County Road 45 in Trent Hills received an alert on their Automated Licence Plate Recognition system for a southbound pickup truck reported as stolen.
The driver left the roadway and abandoned the vehicle in a field behind a house before fleeing on foot. The K9 unit was called in to help with the search, but the driver was not found.
The investigation remains ongoing.
